Major-General Tarek Abdel-Rahman Donia, Egyptian Air Force, Retired
A native of Cairo, Egypt, Major-General Donia earned a Bachelor of Air and Military Science in 1973 and was subsequently commissioned as an officer in the Egyptian Air Force.
Major-General Donia’s distinguished 35-year military career was punctuated by a succession of key operational assignments and staff appointments, including Chief of Staff. Corresponding with his progression, he undertook a series of senior officer professional development training, including the National Defence Course, Crisis Management Course and Advanced Crisis Management Course at Nassar Higher Military Academy.
An acknowledged expert in airport operations and management, his specialization training has included Airport Emergency Planning and Advanced Emergency Planning; Emergency Exercise Planning and Implementation; and Airport Senior Management (Aéroports de Paris).
Following his military retirement, Tarek has served as the Deputy Manager of Sharm El-Sheikh Airport, along with Chairman Consultant for Operations and Training, Market Manager and Operations General Manager at Egyptian Airports Company.
Throughout his military and civilian careers, Tarek has distinguished himself as a focussed technical expert and decision maker, with a proven track record of operational safety, efficiency and effectiveness. Fluent in English, he is highly conversant and effective in managing large scale, multi-unit international operations and activities.
Tarek is married and lives with his wife in Cairo.
